Daily Quarantine Message Report

CCB's email security and threat protection service by AppRiver blocks unwanted messages and keeps your system free of adware, spyware, and viruses. One of the supplementary advantages of using the service is the user-specific Daily Quarantine Message Report, which is sent daily to the end-user’s Inbox and is completely customizable through the Customer Portal. Check out this guide for a how-to on the message report.

The instructions here are divided into two major categories:

1.  Marking an email/message as spam/virus if it accidentally gets through the filter or you are unable to unsubscribe from a sender and you no longer want the messages in your inbox

2.  Releasing messages that have been marked as spam/virus (false positive) and it is known email that you wish to receive

Adding a message to the blocked spam/virus email list:

Please forward the spam email to us at the email address spam@ccbtg.com.  Please put in the Subject "Please block this email" or similar language and a member of the help desk will block it accordingly.

Releasing messages from the Daily Quarantine Message Report:

Each day you will receive the Daily Quarantine Message Report by email in your inbox.  Scan through the emails that were caught and could potentially be emails you wish to receive.  Below is an example of the Daily Quarantine Message Report:

Let’s take a closer look at the email that has been marked as spam.  To open the email, click on the “View” button to the left of the email.

This will open email quarantine dashboard.  Here you can inspect the email in question, such as seeing the email (with images and links blocked for your protection). You can scroll down through the body of the email, review the date it was received, the category in which the email was deemed spam and the country from which the email originated from.

Once you have reviewed the email and verified you wish to receive this email, click on the green “Release” Button.  This releases the email from the quarantine but does not permanently mark the email address as safe.  As a general rule we request that you do not check the box labeled "Domain" in the Allowed List & Tools section of the request (item in the red box).  Checking this radio button can significantly increase the amount of unwanted email.

After you click "Submit request to administrator" you will receive a pop-up message like the following:

The email will arrive shortly in your inbox.

While you are in the dashboard, you may request CCB Tech Group to add the email address/sender to the Allowed List.  This will prevent future emails from that sender from being caught or identified as spam.  Simply select the check box next to the email address and click on the green “+ Submit request to administrator” button.   This will send a request to CCB Tech Group to add the email address/sender to the Allow list.  A CCB Engineer will add the requested email address to the allowed list.  Please note that this can take up to an hour to take effect.

Finally, when an email address is set to the allowed list, this will take effect for everyone in your organization (your email domain).
